Seal Garden Bed Boxes, Wood Chicken Coops, Bird Houses & Dog Houses

Timber Pro’s Internal Wood Stabilizer (IWS) is a permanent, non toxic, zero VOC clear waterproofer. It will give your wood much longer life and at the same time will not add any toxicity to the soil or the environment. IWS works only on bare, untreated wood. It cannot be applied to plywood or pressure treated wood.  IWS is a 2 coat, one-time, permanent application.

Because it works within the cell structure of the wood there is no surface appearance change, therefore UV light will still turn the exposed wood gray. If that is not a concern then all six sides (including the cut ends) of every board should be sealed before construction.

Your finished garden box or chicken coop will slowly turn gray from the UV light, but will never need re-sealing. You cannot apply stain over the top of IWS, however if you want a decorative finish on the outside of your Garden Box or Hen House/Bird House, then seal the inside surface of all wood or any part of the structure that will be in contact with the soil, moisture, or animals with the IWS. Then seal the outside surface with two coats of Timber Pro’s Deck & Fence Formula Stain and Sealer in any tint you prefer.  Our stain is very low VOC and eco safe but allow the stain a few days to dry and cure before exposure to birds or animals. The outside surfaces stained with the Deck & Fence Formula will require repeat coats over time to refresh the color.
